CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
Consulting Dietitian/ Nutritionist
(Part-time: Up to 15 hours per month)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This contracted Nutritionist position provides consultation, information and training to Abbotsford Community Services programs, particularly the Canada Prenatal Nutrition program, Best for Babies. Services will include: direct consultation to individual program participants, consulting with staff regarding participant or program needs, or presenting information or training to groups. The Nutritionist may assist Abbotsford Community Services to plan and implement a Community Kitchen within the agency.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in Food and Nutrition, M.Sc. in Nutrition or related field preferred.

Must be a member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.

Experience with nutrition support to pregnant and breast-feeding women and young children.

Experience working in multi-disciplinary community settings

Excellent knowledge of clinical nutrition principles and trends.

Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to encourage, support and motivate individuals and/or their families from a multi-cultural community.

Excellent presentation skills.

Knowledge of principles of adult education and ability to teach in an individual or group setting.

Community development skills.
-
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to cultivate and maintain mutually supportive working relationships with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Computer skills specific to Microsoft office.
