Education based programs for young parents
and their children |
| New Beginnings is a school based program for pregnant or parenting adolescents
and young adults who wish to continue their education. On site daycare is
provided and various support services are available.
The program is located at Abbotsford Collegiate Secondary School and is
administrated by Abbotsford Continuing Education.

| Classroom Program |
|
| A part-time education program is available for
school aged students who wish to complete grade 12.
Students may work on courses at their own pace
in the portable classroom or be integrated into
classes in Abbotsford Collegiate.
School hours are Monday to Thursday
from 8:10 a.m. to 2:35 p.m.

New Beginnings Daycare |
|
A specially designed and built on-site daycare
centre for 0 - 3 year olds is located on the grounds of Abbotsford
Collegiate. The centre is operated by Abbotsford
Community Services with licensed Early
Childhood Educators. |

Support and Resource Workers
Support and resource workers are available for young mothers and fathers
to provide information, referrals and offer groups for parenting, recreation,
and fun.

- to provide supportive, quality childcare and individualized school
programming.
- to assist young parents in enhancing their parenting skills.
- to provide access to community support and resource services.
- to provide comprehensive educational support programs to both
young mothers and fathers.
- to work with community service agencies such as Abbotsford Kiwanis.
- to provide quality programs for young parents and their children.
