Employing People in Community (E.P.I.C)
A component of Abbotsford Community Living that provides a range of vocational options for adults with developmental disabilities. Individualized programming includes counselling, assessment, work placement, on-the-job support and pre-vocational skills training.
Serves the needs of:
- Adults With Developmental Disabilities
- Adults who live in Abbotsford who are currently in receipt of Disability Benefits
- Adults who are determined to be "Job Ready"
- Adults with a personal desire to join the work force

E.P.I.C. Program is committed to assist people with developmental disabilities in order to maximize their employment potentials.
E.P.I.C. Goals
- To develop a career path in partnership with the participant and their support network.
- To develop job placements in volunteer and work experience settings that may lead to paid employment.
- The job development staff explore the job market to identify work opportunities.
- The job developer matches the skills and career goals of the job candidate to the employer's needs.
- A job coach provides individualized support to the new worker during the training period.
- Follow-up support to assist with job retention is available for up to three years.
