  Donor News

Our vision “People Helping People”. For over the past 32 years, we have maintained this vision. We have had the privilege of assisting people of all ages, races and situations. Our staff and volunteers, through their daily contacts, have shared in the pain of those hurting and in need and have had the pleasure and joy of seeing the results of your generosity.

Who are our donors?

Our donors are individuals from the community, businesses, service clubs and organizations, United Way, foundations, churches and schools. They represent all walks of life, those touched by Community Services in some way and those who understand that programs and services offered by Community Services can make a difference in peoples’ lives.

Government funding is not sufficient to meet the service needs and therefore other types of revenue such as donations, enterprise revenue and fees are necessary. The Food Bank, Family Centre and Seniors’ Services depend on donations to make them possible. Central support, accounts and facilities rely heavily on community support.

Our gratitude…
To the various government ministries that contract with us to provide services and to individuals, business, churches, foundations and various community organizations who have donated, we thank you for your commitment. The level of service we offer and the results attained are only possible because of your continued caring. A special thanks to our volunteers who contribute tens of thousands of hours.

Abbotsford Community Services has partnered with Canada-Helps.org, a non profit charity portal and a registered public foundation that seeks to promote and facilitate philanthropy through online giving.  CanadaHelps.org offers its services at a very low cost to the charity and at no cost to the donor.

All you have to do is click the “donate now” button and follow the instructions.  All information entered is strictly confidential and security protected and donor information is only provided to the charity to which the donation has been made.

How do donors get a receipt?

Donations made through the CanadaHelps.org website are treated in the same way as regular receiptable charitable donations.  The Canada Revenue Agency has approved the use of electronic tax receipts. Usually within minutes of successfully completing a donation, the donor receives an e-mail notification confirming the transaction.  Because CanadaHelps.org is a registered public foundation, donors are e-receipted for a donation to CanadaHelps.org.  The donation is processed and funds are directed to the Abbotsford Community Services bank.

Can donors make an anonymous donation?

Yes. All that is required is that the donor checks the appropriate box when prompted and anonymity is guaranteed.

We encourage you to visit us and see the results of your continued generosity. Call the Resource Development Office at 859-7681 local 234 to make arrangements.
