Skills Connect For Immigrants

B.C. has a growing economy and an expanding job market — employers and communities are looking for workers in many different areas. The Government of British Columbia understands that you have the skills, qualifications and experience we need and is working with Abbotsford Community Services to deliver this exciting program.

The Skills Connect for Immigrants Program can help you find that perfect employment fit. Our program can help you with an individual approach, tailored to meet your needs.

Eligibility criteria:
- You became a permanent resident of Canada within the last 5 years, and;
- You are unemployed or underemployed; and
- Have an intermediate to advanced level of English language proficiency.

If you’re eligible, we will:
• assess your skills, qualifications and experiences;
• provide targeted career counselling and career planning services;
• improve your language skills and help to upgrade other skills; and
• provide hands-on workplace experience through mentoring and other innovative approaches.
