The Food Bank provides food, basic necessities, dental care and emergency assistance for individuals and families in need. The Christmas Bureau offers food hampers, gifts and clothing to qualified residents in temporary crisis during the Christmas season.

The recycling program features a drop off area for blue bag recyclables and other recyclable items including household waste at no charge.

Supportive Housing
Abbotsford experiences homelessness in much the same way as any other major community and city. Men who are homeless or at risk of homelessness will soon be able to take advantage of a low barrier supportive housing project on Gladys Road just outside of downtown Abbotsford.

Better At Home
This partnership program with The United Way helps seniors continue living independently in their own homes by providing simple non-medical support services like help with housekeeping and transportation to appointments.

Fun, food and friends for seniors every Monday from 10am till 1pm. Transportation can be provided if needed.

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)
We provide free ESL classes (literacy - Level 7) for new immigrants. Classes run from September to June and intake is ongoing through an application process.

Moving Ahead Program
This group of specifically focused programs is for immigrant newcomers, refugees and their families to settle into Canada through support, community integration and resource access. The Moving Ahead program (MAP) is designed to assist immigrant individuals and families with multiple needs and significant integration barriers.

In these classes, newcomers to Canada gain confidence and make positive connections. The purpose is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for successful living and parenting in their new environment. The goal is to equip parents with our Canadian cultural ways of parenting.

Settlement support and liaison is offered between schools and the home of immigrant students and their families.

This program will assess the skills, qualifications and experiences of recent immigrants and offer opportunities such as workplace orientation which will help to secure and sustain employment. This is a No Cost service, Minimum CLB (Community Language Benchmark) Level 5 required.

Professional medical practitioners provide health services in a youth friendly, safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment for individuals aged 12-24. With increased knowledge, tools to protect and maintain their health, by identifying high risk behaviours, youth are empowered to become active participants in their health care.
