Beginners Course

Prerequisite - Introduction to Computers and Windows XP

This Beginners course is intended for individuals who have little knowledge and need to formalize their skills. The course covers Windows, Word, Internet & Email.

This course is designed to get a beginner started on the basic applications of;

  • Review of computer terminology
  • Review of the Windows Operating system
  • Word processing - Create & Format documents, name, save & print documents
  • File Management
  • Internet - explore the web using search engines
  • Email - send and receive information.

The Windows operating system and its functions are essential to using your computer effectively.

We will start by reviewing Windows XP and how it is used. This is followed by three sessions on word processing, learning how to set up a letter, files and printing, and file management.

The next session is on surfing the World Wide Web efficiently and confidently. The last session is on learning how to send and receive email. This is a fast and easy approach to keep in touch with family and friends by using electronic mail.
