Recycling Program
Line Worker/Plant Worker
Full-Time 40 Hours/Week

POSITION OR TITLE: Line Worker/ Plant Worker
REPORTING TO: Managers/Directors
GENERAL DUTIES: Sort out various recyclables

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist as required on positive sort recycling conveyor lines
• Assist as required on negative sort recycling conveyor lines
• Maintain clean and safe work station
• Assist in daily clean-up
• Pre-sort cardboard from mixed loads
• Empty barrels and boxes from line
• Sort beverage containers covered under deposit legislation
• Operate equipment in a manner consistent with manufacturer’s specifications and WorkSafe regulations
• Attend daily staff production meetings as required
• Be able to work all shifts, weekends and holidays
• Assist the public in a safe and courteous manner
• Must have own form of transportation

RELEVANT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a satisfactory fitness assessment and be able to work in a dusty environment
• Good communication skills
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
• Be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs./30 kgs.
• Capable of doing repetitive tasks, and stand for extended periods of time
• Be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision
• Lift truck experience and/or operators certificate would be an asset
• Skid steer experience would be an asset

Compensation: $13.00/Hour
Benefits: A comprehensive benefits package available after 3 months’
