Providing ESL Classes To New Immigrants

Provides free ESL classes (CLB1 - CLB8) to new immigrants. Classes are offered morning and evening in Abbotsford and a morning class in Mission. On-site child minding is available for morning classes at some locations.


You must be 17 years old or older and have Permanent Resident status in Canada. You must fill in an application and submit a copy of your Permanent Resident card or Confirmation of Permanent Residence document.

Description & Schedule

Students will improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in English. They will learn about Canada, becoming a citizen, politics, history and geography. They also will learn about working and living in Canada, rights and freedoms, housing, employment, and education.

Classes run from September to June (continuous intake). Part-time morning and evening classes are available.

Knowing English helps open the door to jobs, services, news and information in Canada. Please watch this video to help you learn about the steps you can take to improve your language skills before and after you arrive in Canada:
