Talia’s Closet

Talia’s Closet helps graduates celebrate their success by alleviating the monetary pressure associated with graduation.

Graduation is a big milestone for all youth and a tremendous accomplishment, especially for teens who have faced disadvantages. It is also a very costly event. Talia’s Closet strives to alleviate some of the costs so that all youth can shine on their big day.

Through Talia’s Closet, we provide graduates with free, gently worn gowns, suits, and accessories. 

A local seamstress donates her time to make alterations as needed and youth get to keep their outfits. Local businesses also donate hair, make-up, photography, and nail services to help offset the costs of prom. Students can enjoy a real shopping experience with a large selection, thanks to the generosity of these donors in our community.

Talia’s Closet is located within donated space at Sevenoaks Alliance Church. Talia’s Closet receives no funding and is run by volunteers and part-time staff from the Archway Youth Resource Program. 

Talia’s Closet is a program of our Youth Resource Centre (YRC), which is a one-stop-shop for youth and their families who want a helping hand to connect with each other and/or the community.

Who We Help

• Any student graduating high school or university in Abbotsford and neighbouring communities

To Access Talia’s Closet

• We need a referral from a teacher or school counsellor confirming that the youth is graduating.
• Once the referral is received, a Talia’s Closet volunteer will contact you to set up an appointment for you to choose and try on a dress/suit. You can bring family or a friend to help you choose the right outfit.
